SkyTunnel VPN — Privacy Policy

Applies to the Android app "SkyTunnel VPN" published by AB Group Apps.

This policy explains, in plain language, what SkyTunnel VPN does and does not do with your data, and what the third-party services it depends on — Google AdMob and the VPN Gate volunteer server network — collect on their own. We wrote this to be read before you connect, not just before you sue us.

The short version: SkyTunnel VPN itself collects nothing — no account, no browsing logs, no analytics. Its two dependencies are not silent: Google AdMob collects an advertising identifier to show ads, and VPN Gate (the free volunteer network that provides the VPN servers) keeps standard connection logs under its own published policy. Both are explained fully below.

1. What SkyTunnel VPN collects

Nothing. The app requires no account creation and no email address. It does not run analytics, does not use crash-reporting SDKs, and does not log which sites you visit, your DNS queries, your connection timestamps, or your traffic content. The only information stored is kept locally on your device and never leaves it:

Whether you've accepted the in-app VPN disclosure (so it isn't shown twice)

The country code of the server you last used (so the app can suggest it again)

Both are ordinary app preferences stored via Android's local storage APIs. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

2. What Google AdMob collects

SkyTunnel VPN is free and supported by ads shown inside the app (never injected into your browsing traffic). Ads are served by Google AdMob, which independently collects data to serve and measure ads, including:

Your Android advertising ID

Approximate location (derived from IP address)

Device and app information, and ad interaction data

This collection is governed by Google's own policies, not ours: see the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" (support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543). You can limit ad personalization at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

3. What VPN Gate collects — read this before you connect

SkyTunnel VPN does not operate any VPN servers itself. It connects you to VPN Gate, a public academic project run by the University of Tsukuba, Japan, using servers volunteered by individuals worldwide. VPN Gate publishes its own Anti-Abuse Policy (vpngate.net/en/about_abuse.aspx), and we want you to know exactly what it says rather than assume "free VPN" means "no logs":

Connection logs: VPN Gate states it keeps VPN connection logs for three months or more, including the date/time of connection, your source IP address and hostname, the destination relay server, the protocol used, and — notably — the destination hostnames (domains) you connected to.

Packet logs: individual volunteer-operated servers may separately keep packet-header logs for two weeks or more, held locally by that volunteer rather than by VPN Gate's central organization.

Disclosure: VPN Gate states it will disclose connection logs to police, prosecutors, or a court presenting valid legal authorization.

In short: VPN Gate does not offer anonymity, and neither does this app. Use SkyTunnel VPN to change your visible location and unblock content — not as a tool to hide illegal activity or as a substitute for a paid, no-logs VPN service. Traffic that is not already encrypted with HTTPS could, in principle, also be readable by the volunteer operating the exit server, exactly as it could be read by any other network you connect through.

4. Encryption in transit

App ↔ VPN Gate server list API: HTTPS/TLS

Your device ↔ VPN Gate relay server: OpenVPN encrypted tunnel

VPN relay server ↔ destination website: depends on the site — HTTPS if the site itself uses it

5. Permissions this app uses

Internet access — to fetch the VPN Gate server list and establish the VPN tunnel

Notifications — Android requires a visible notification while a VPN connection is active

Run in foreground (VPN) — keeps the encrypted tunnel alive while the app is in use, per Android's VpnService requirements

SkyTunnel VPN never requests access to your contacts, photos, messages, location, microphone, or camera.

6. Children's privacy

SkyTunnel VPN is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Ad content is requested at a PG maximum rating.

7. Your choices

Delete local data: uninstall the app — nothing is stored on any server we control.

Limit ad personalization: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete/reset advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads.

Avoid VPN Gate's logging: this is outside our control — see Section 3.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will also be reflected in the in-app disclosure shown before you connect.
