Recall

Privacy Policy for Recall

Date: August 17, 2026

Recall ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal memory application that helps users capture, organize, search, and revisit information they choose to save.

This Privacy Policy explains how Recall handles information when you use the application.

Developer: AB Group Apps

1. Our Privacy Approach

Recall is designed to work primarily on your device.

The core memory functionality does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, or other account information.

Your memories are designed to remain stored locally on your device unless you intentionally use a feature that transfers or exports information outside the application.

We do not operate a custom server for storing your personal memories in the standard version of Recall.

2. Information You Choose to Store

When you use Recall, you may choose to create and store information such as:

  • Text memories

  • Titles

  • Categories

  • Tags

  • Favorites

  • Recall schedules

  • Images

  • Screenshots

  • Links

  • Voice recordings

  • OCR-generated text

  • Dates associated with memories

  • Recall interaction history

  • Other information that you voluntarily enter into the application

This information is primarily stored locally on your device.

Recall does not require you to provide this information to us simply to use the core memory functionality.

3. Images and Camera

If you choose to add an image or take a photograph using a feature that requires camera access, Recall may request access to your device camera or image picker.

Camera or image access is used only to provide the feature you selected.

For example, you may use an image as part of a memory.

Recall does not access your camera continuously or record images in the background.

You can deny camera or image permissions. Some related features may then be unavailable.

4. Screenshots and OCR

Recall may allow you to import screenshots or images and extract text from them using on-device or otherwise configured OCR functionality.

When OCR processing is performed on the device, the image and extracted text remain on your device as part of your local memory data.

Recall does not intentionally upload your screenshots or OCR content to a custom Recall server.

If a future version uses a third-party processing service, this Privacy Policy and the relevant disclosures will be updated before that functionality is introduced.

5. Voice Recordings

Recall may allow you to create voice memories.

If you use this feature, the application may request microphone permission.

Voice recordings are stored locally on your device unless you intentionally export or share them.

Recall does not continuously record microphone audio in the background.

If speech-to-text functionality is available, processing may depend on the capabilities of your device and the implementation used by the application.

6. Notifications

Recall may request notification permission so that it can remind you about memories you have chosen to revisit.

Notifications may contain information related to your memories depending on your notification settings.

You can disable Recall notifications through the application settings or Android system settings.

Recall does not use notifications to send advertising messages.

7. Local Storage

Recall stores application information locally on your device.

Local information may include:

  • Memories

  • Categories

  • Tags

  • Attachments

  • Recall schedules

  • Recall history

  • Application settings

  • Preferences

  • Backup information

This local data is used to provide the application's functionality.

If you uninstall the application or delete its local data through Android, locally stored information may be removed.

8. Search and Recall

Recall may process your locally stored memories to provide:

  • Search

  • Filtering

  • Sorting

  • Categories

  • Favorites

  • Recall scheduling

  • Recall history

  • Local insights

These functions are designed to operate on your device.

Your memory content is not intentionally sent to a custom Recall server for these functions.

9. Recall Insights

Recall may calculate statistics based on information stored in the application.

Examples may include:

  • Number of memories

  • Number of memories created during a period

  • Favorite memories

  • Category distribution

  • Recall interactions

  • Useful/not-useful feedback

These calculations are intended to provide information about your use of Recall.

Recall does not claim that these statistics measure intelligence, memory ability, mental health, productivity, or medical conditions.

10. Backup and Export

Recall may provide features that allow you to export your memories.

Depending on the selected export method, exported files may contain information you previously stored in Recall.

You are responsible for where you choose to save, transfer, or share exported files.

If you intentionally share an exported file with another person or service, that information may be accessible to the recipient or service according to their own privacy practices.

11. Sharing

Recall may allow you to share information from the application or receive information from other Android applications using Android's sharing functionality.

For example, you may share:

  • Text

  • Links

  • Images

  • Screenshots

  • Files

When you intentionally share information with another application, that application may process the information according to its own privacy policy.

Recall does not control the privacy practices of third-party applications.

12. Advertising

Recall is a free application supported by advertising.

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements.

AdMob and related Google services may collect and process certain information from your device for purposes such as:

  • Advertising

  • Ad delivery

  • Ad measurement

  • Fraud prevention

  • Security

  • Reporting

  • Personalization where permitted and applicable

The information handled by advertising services may include device or advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, application information, advertising interaction information, and other information described in Google's applicable policies.

The exact information collected can depend on your device, region, consent choices, advertising configuration, and the SDKs included in the application.

For more information about Google's privacy practices, please review Google's privacy documentation:

Recall does not sell your personal memory content to advertisers.

Recall does not intentionally provide advertisers with the contents of your private memories for advertising purposes.

13. Advertising Consent

Where required by applicable law or Google's advertising requirements, Recall may request your consent regarding advertising and related data processing.

Your choices may affect whether advertisements are personalized.

You may also have advertising-related controls available through your Android device or Google account.

14. Third-Party Services

Recall may use third-party libraries and services necessary to provide application functionality.

These may include services for:

  • Advertising

  • Local device functionality

  • Authentication of device capabilities

  • Image processing

  • Notifications

  • Other technical functionality

Third-party SDKs may process certain device or usage information according to their own privacy policies.

The application does not intentionally provide third-party advertising services with the contents of your personal memories.

The actual list of third-party SDKs used by the released application will be reflected in the application's Data Safety disclosures and this Privacy Policy where applicable.

15. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect for an Account

Recall does not require an account for its core functionality.

We do not require you to provide:

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Password

  • Profile photograph

to use the core offline memory features.

If a future version introduces optional account or cloud-sync functionality, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that functionality is introduced.

16. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the application.

Recall is designed to minimize unnecessary transmission of your personal memory information.

Local memory data is stored on your device.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security on your device, including:

  • Device screen lock

  • Android security updates

  • Device backups

  • Protection of exported files

If you enable an application lock or biometric protection feature, that feature is intended to add an additional layer of protection to access to the application.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

17. Data Retention

Locally stored memories remain on your device until you:

  • Delete them

  • Delete application data

  • Uninstall the application

  • Replace or reset the device

  • Otherwise remove the local data

Exported files remain wherever you choose to store them until you delete them.

Advertising-related information may be retained by third-party advertising providers according to their applicable policies and retention practices.

18. Deleting Your Data

Because Recall's core memory data is stored locally, you can delete your information directly inside the application.

You may delete individual memories using the delete function.

You may also use the application's data-management options to remove locally stored data where available.

You can also remove application data through Android settings.

If you have exported a backup or shared a memory with another application, deleting the original memory from Recall does not automatically delete copies outside Recall.

19. Children's Privacy

Recall is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed toward children.

We do not knowingly request children to provide personal information for an account.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us through a feature that permits such information to be submitted, please contact us so that we can review the situation.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when application functionality, third-party services, legal requirements, or data practices change.

When changes are made, the updated version will be published at the application's privacy policy URL.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will also be updated.

You should periodically review this policy for changes.
